NCTCOG Coordinated Statewide 9-1-1 GeoDatabase Design Project |

As
of August 2004, a total of 16 entities were participating in the Statewide
9-1-1 GeoDatabase Design Project. The North Central Texas Council of
Governments is coordinating the project, and the Texas Water Development
Board is also contributing to the project as a whole via the Texas Natural
Resources Information System.
The cooperative purchase of the GeoDatabase (GDB) design has realized each entity an average savings of $46,700, and an overall savings of over $700,000. By pooling our efforts, the final GDB design will not only be a culmination of our combined knowledge and input, but will be more useful to all future participants. Future contributions after the design completion will be used to fund further needed 9-1-1 applications. This group is helping to set a precedent of helpful interaction between various agencies and will all realize the benefits that come from cooperation. |
