Feature layers include building footprints, sidewalks and pavement (road edges, parking lots, bridges, medians and islands). The data are available for online purchase.
Data are available on a per-tile basis that includes all available features from the list above for $25. Tiles are based on the same index grid as aerial photography and contours and measure 3,000’ x 2,000’ or 0.215 square miles. Sample data and a shapefile of the tile structure may be downloaded below. All planimetric orders can be placed via www.dfwmaps.com. Before placing an order, please read the instructions and frequently asked questions.
The following downloadable zip file contains sample planimetrics of buildings, pavement, and sidewalks in shapefile format.

Specifications
Using a method also known as heads-up digitizing, planimetric features were captured from the 2007 digital orthoimagery. In heads-up digitizing, lines are traced by hand directly on the computer screen using the digital orthoimage as a backdrop. Planimetric features are acquired quickly, requiring fewer tools and less processing than traditional photogrammetric capture. This method of capture also allows for many digitized features to closely match the horizontal accuracy of the orthophotography.
The following specifications have been provided by the contractor for this project, Sanborn.
* Capture rate is a percentage based on a 1”=750’ negative scale and a 6,720 square mile area (1”=100’ map scale)
